Sync.
Making music means more than just playing a song. It's about creating memories, expressing emotions, forming connections, and most importantly having fun. As with everything in life, starting something can be the most difficult part. It can be challenging searching for someone to help you learn, someone to play with, or people to start a band with. So, what if there was a way for musicians to easily connect through music? A place where musicians could come together, finding others who share the same passion or desire to play music as themselves. A platform that inspires a whole new generation of musicians. A brand that encourages musicians to play, create and connect all in sync.
The Problem.
Throughout history, musical instruments have been shown to connect people, especially throughout the pandemic. In addition to bringing people together, many educational, health and social benefits have been discovered as a result of playing musical instruments. Despite the numerous benefits, less than half of young adults are currently playing a musical instrument.
The Challenge.
How can I use design to help encourage young adults to connect through playing musical instruments together? 
The Logo.
A fresh and inviting mark was created for Sync to represent its mission of connecting people through music. Inspired by the common visual representation of audio, the logo mark depicts the letter "S" connecting two paths - much like the platform's purpose.
The App.
Sync is a bespoke music platform making it easier than ever for young adults to find musicians, bands and teachers, all in one place. On a mission to support and grow the music community, Sync aims to inspire a whole new generation of musicians.
The App's Features.
Sync allows its users to connect with musicians and bands of all abilities. When signing up to the app, a user is asked to select a level from 1 to 5 based on their music experience, years of playing or musical grades completed. For teachers, a rating system is used instead of levels so aspiring musicians can find the perfect mentor for them. Using the search bar, users can find musicians, bands and teachers in their area. Once a user has found a musician they would like to connect with, they can view their profile, request to follow them and even start a conversation.
The Campaign.
As well as its relation to music, Sync is an acronym for "Searching for Your Next Connection". The brand's launch campaign plays on the acronym, encouraging young adults to use Sync to connect with any musician they desire.
